Thoby Loth – Live with Jeppo Ungdomsorkester

Last weekend I went on a “mini-tour” with the fairytale prog-rock band Thoby Loth to Pietarsaari and Vaasa. They played with Jeppo Ungdomsorkester and the result was epic and spectacular! The JK drifting project

As I mentioned in a earlier blog post I am doing a presentation video for the drifting driver Jonas Klemets. Today has been the day of making the intro in After Effects, love that program. The intro turned out great and I think that it will get the viewers attention. Here is a screenshot from the intro with a still of the man himself.

Tomorrow evening I will go to Korjaamo and take some live stills of The Cajungas gig. I haven’t actually seen the guys live before as The Cajunga so I’m very excited about the gig and I hope to get some nice shots!

Tomorrow I will also get a visit from the mighty Flute Phantom, aka. Tobias Tåg from Thoby Loth, aka. my brother. He will be a guest on a live morning show on Finnish television called “Min Morgon” where he will be talking about the process of writing songs. Check it out Thursday morning at FST5! Hello!

Just finished the new Thoby Loth website and I’m very satisfied with the result! You can visit the website HERE! A huge improvement from the previous one! Now I’m open for new website projects, so if you need one contact me!

Printed things

A couple of days ago I got a package from WING Records with the new album from The Cajunga called Dancing With the Boys which I did the design and layout for. I have the layout in my portfolio but that’s just taken from the PDF file that I sent to print. Here is the real deal, check it out!

By the way, the record sounds great and if you live in Helsinki and want to see them live they will play at Korjaamo 3.3 and Lepakkomies 4.3. I’m going to be there with my camera and shoot some live photos of the boys.

I also collected a bunch of albums that I have done during the past years and took a photo of the real deal.

New music video project!

A few hours ago my colleague  Tage Rönnqvist called me and announced that we will make a new music video for the band Walkalone. Tage had a sit-down with one of the band members today and they made the deal. The video shoot will happen sometime in March or April, probably after we have finished editing our Coredust video.

Thanks to Tage for fixing yet another music video gig for us! I pay my respects by posting a photo of him sitting at the Ramedus desk during The Cajunga video editing.

Today I started the editing of the Jonas Klemets project. It’s going to end up as an 1-2min presentation video of him and I hope that I can do something cool with the handheld mini-HD cam video material in After Effects afterwards.

I´m also fixing the new Thoby Loth site, but can’t get a decent music player to work in Wordpress, anyone have any ideas?

Projects at Ramedus

A lot of things going on at Ramedus!

First off. My friend Jens came to me and asked if I could help him with an intro for a documentary about “faith” that he was doing in After Effects. I showed him a few tricks and then he was ready to finnish the intro. The photographer of the documentary Magnus also came over to see that everything looked ok. Here is a pic of Magnus and Jens working at the Ramedus office.

I just finished the poster and tickets for the concert with Thoby Loth and Jeppo Ungdomsorkester. They turned out really good and I’m going to Ostrobothia and shoot both of the concerts in Pietarsaari (13.3) and in Vaasa (14.3). Really looking forward to the concerts, I’ve followed the band since the beginning and they have a couple of new songs that I haven’t  heard before.

I’m also working on their new website at the moment and I hope that it will be ready by the end of next week. A huge facelift for the website. I did the original web-layout a couple of years ago and I thought it looked great, but now I just want to vomit when I see it. But hopefully the new website will look fresh for a couple of years to come.

Another thing that I’m working on is a new graphic profile for DUNK – De Ungas Musikförbund i Finland r.f. That includes: Logo, website, document base, posters and stuff like that. I’ve just started with this project and I hope that they will be satisfied with my work.

But what about the video projects you ask?

My friend Jonas Klemets asked me if I wanted to do a presentation video of him. Jonas is one of the top 10 drifters in the country and wanted the video to continue searching for sponsorship. And what is driftning? Well let me google that for you:

“Drifting refers to a driving technique and to a motorsport where the driver intentionally oversteers, causing loss of traction in the rear wheels through turns, while maintaining vehicle control and a high exit speed.“

I’ve done a interview with him and he has sent me some of his own video material from different competitions the last years. So it’s just the editing left!

This summer I will also do a video “Top Gear style” with him and his team Drift Garage. If the video barely resembles the ones of Top Gear I will be very pleased!

And then we have the next music video project!

The music video duo Tage Rönnqvist and Rasmus Tåg will shoot a video for the Doom-metal band Coredust. I’ve never done anything with music like this and I’m very excited about it. The video shoot will happen 21.3 and we have put together a great crew. We have a basic idea of what we want to do with the video but a lot of planning is yet to be done. Hopefully we will have everything sorted out by the 21st of March.

That’s about it.

One other thing. Today I´m going to shoot some portraits of Oy Botta Abs board of directors for their annual report. I will also make the cover for the same report.

One last thing. Have you seen this commercial? Simply brilliant! Although I don’t enjoy the scent of Old Spice I really enjoy their manly commercials.
